LeRoy B. Bible, CPA, CFE
LeRoy joined Bible
Harris Smith, P.C. in 1972 and was the managing director from 1981
through 2007.
LeRoy provides consulting services to closely-held companies in areas of
management, income and estate tax planning. He provides litigation
support to attorneys and has taught several courses approved by the Commission
on Continuing Legal Education of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
LeRoy earned his accounting degree from the University of Tennessee
in 1964. LeRoy entered the United States Army upon graduation where he
served as a finance officer in the United States Army in Europe.
After the army, LeRoy returned to his accounting career as an auditor with the Birmingham, Alabama
office of one of the national accounting firms. Prior to coming back to Knoxville, he was Secretary-Treasurer of a manufacturing
company in Greenwood, Mississippi.
He has been active in both the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and
Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). LeRoy is a previous Chairman of the Managing
an Accounting Practice Committee and has also served on the Accounting and
Auditing, Long Range Planning, and Valuation and Litigation Services Committees
of the TSCPA. He is one of a few CPAs in public practice in East Tennessee who is also a Certified Fraud
Examiner. In addition to his work in public accounting and fraud
examinations, LeRoy is a neutral on the commercial panel of the American
Arbitration Association, having served on cases in Ohio,
Florida and Tennessee.
In
his years of working in Knoxville,
LeRoy has been active in community affairs. He is a former President of
the Knoxville Estate Planning Council. He served for many years on the
Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity. LeRoy and his wife Julie are
members of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. They are avid travelers, never
missing an opportunity to strap on their cameras and hit the road.
